The Worm Factory Composter
Worm composting, or vermicomposting, is one of the fastest and easiest ways to turn kitchen scraps into rich compost for your garden or household plants. Homemade worm bins are nice, but it can be difficult separating the worms from the compost and maintaining a healthy balance of carbon and nitrogen in the mix. Complete with easy-to-follow directions, the Worm Factory Composter is the easiest way to get started with this exciting and fun method of composting.
Start by filling the bottom tray with food scraps and bedding. When it fills, begin placing scraps in the next tray and the worms will follow. By the time the third tray is filled, the bottom tray will be mostly free of worms and you'll have beautiful compost that can be mixed in with the soil or used as a top dressing around your plants. Expandable with space-saving stacking trays made from 100% post-consumer plastic, it houses up to 12,000 worms and is capable of processing 5 - 8 lbs of food per week without odors or mess.
Standard unit comes with base and 4 trays. Each tray holds 12.5 lbs. Extra trays are available above.
