Sealed AGM Batteries

AGM (absorbed glass mat) batteries are a sealed-cell variety of lead acid batteries. They're sealed because they don't require watering, making them appropriate for intermittent off-grid solar use like backup power systems or vacation cabins, and opening them up for more mounting options for added convenience.

While AGM batteries' cycle life is shorter than gel cell batteries (the other sealed lead-acid format), they're also less expensive.

Q: What voltage should my system run?
A: Generally, systems under 2kWh per day are fine at 12 volts, systems up to 7kWh per day are good at 24 volts, and larger systems should be running at 48 volts. These aren't ironclad guidelines by any means.
