The ExprESS 7.6 energy storage system (ESS) is a battery-powered AC generator that stores up to 7.6 kWh of electricity at 48VDC. Because the ExprESS functions as an uninterruptible power supply (UPS), it's an excellent solution for storing safe, reliable power off-grid or as emergency backup power for when the grid goes down during a blackout or natural disaster. Its 7.6 kWh capacity is sufficient for operating appliances, tools, AV equipment, computers, refrigeration, and medical equipment for hours or days at a time (see run time chart below).
The ExprESS can be charged from an AC wall outlet, solar/wind sources (DC input), or a conventional generator. You can charge the ExprESS as often as you like without harming any of the components. The ExprESS can even support electrical loads while it's charging.
Based on SimpliPhi's nontoxic, non-harzardous lithium ferro phosphate (LiFePO4) battery chemistry - which requires no ventilation or cooling - the ExprESS 7.6 is safe for indoor use. And because it's housed in a NEMA 3R-rated enclosure, it can be used outdoors too. The entire enclosure is on wheels, so moving it between indoor/outdoor locations or rolling it onto a truck is all easily done - meaning you can take the power with you or bring it to others in an emergency or evacuation situation.
