The Conext MPPT 60 150 is a MPPT solar charge controller that uses a dynamic Maximum Power Point Tracking (MPPT) algorithm to deliver the maximum available PV current to charge 12V, 24V, 36V, 48V, or 60V deep-cycle battery banks. While charging, the Conext MPPT regulates battery voltage and output current based on the amount of available PV power and the batteries' state-of-charge.
The Conext MPPT 60 150 offers the flexibility of using longer wiring runs without compromising efficiency by allowing the charging of a lower-voltage battery from a higher-voltage array (e.g. it can charge a 12V battery from a 36V solar array). The MPPT algorithm constantly adjusts the operating points of the array to ensure it stays on the maximum power point, and doesn't pause the energy harvest to "sweep" the array like some other MPPT controllers (which can cause significant energy harvest loss in areas with dynamic and quickly-changing cloud cover).
While the Conext MPPT 60 150 Charge Controller is designed for use with a Conext SW/XW+/XW Pro Inverter/Charger (either in single or multi-unit configurations), it can also be used in other solar energy systems where charge control is needed.
