REC's Alpha series is engineered for excellent energy density and is one of the world's most powerful 60-cell solar modules. This 365W REC Alpha solar panel achieves a power density of 19.4 Watts per square foot and a STC efficiency of 20.9%.
Like the REC TwinPeak modules it's based on, the REC Alpha 365 solar panel uses a "half-cut" PV cell design, splitting the panel into twin sections to lower electrical resistance and allow for continued power production in partial shade conditions. But unlike the TwinPeaks, the Alphas feature REC's heterojunction (HJT) cell technology. These monocrystalline cells are solder-free and feature more wiring between cells for improved current flow.
In addition to power density and efficiency, the other area where the REC Alpha separates itself from the pack is with its super-strong frame. While made of the standard anodized aluminum found in most solar panel frames, the Alpha frames are reinforced by two rear support bars, allowing them to handle snow loads of up to 7000 Pa instead of the industry-standard 5400 Pa.
