CHLX Series lithium-ion solar batteries are designed and tested to thrive under the sometimes rigorous conditions off-grid or hybrid inverters and battery chargers can place on deep cycle solar batteries. This battery has a 1.8kWh capacity; 3.6 kWh capacity and 1.2 kWh capacity versions are also available.
The 12V, 1.8 kWh CHLX battery's LiFePO4 (lithium ferro phosphate) cells are highly efficient, maintenance-free, safe, and will last an impressive 2,000 cycles cycling to a full 100% depth of discharge (or 5,000 cycles when cycling to 80% DoD).
Up to 4 CHLX batteries can be used in series to create systems of 12V, 24V, 36V, or 48V, or you can use up to 4 CHLX batteries in parallel for a higher capacity 12V bank. All parallel strings must be maintained within 0.2V of each other.
Unlike other deep-cycle lithium batteries, CHLX batteries are rated to work in ambient temperatures as low as -22°F (-30°C). While in these sub-freezing conditions, a CHLX battery utilizes charging current to activate an internal heating film to warm its temperature to above freezing, then proceeds with normal solar charging.
*Charging at rates below 150A will extend battery life. After 3000 cycles at 100% depth-of-discharge, the battery's capacity will be approximately 75% its original 1.8kW.
**We strongly recommend staying within a temperature range 32°F (0°C) and 113°F (45°C) for both charging and discharging to prevent damage and extend battery life.
