CHLX Series lithium-ion solar batteries are designed and tested to thrive under the sometimes rigorous conditions off-grid or hybrid inverters and battery chargers can place on deep cycle solar batteries. This battery's capacity is 1.2 kWh; 1.8 kWh capacity and 3.6 kWh capacity versions are also available.
The CHLX's lithium ferro phosphate (LiFePO4) cells are safe, maintenance-free, highly efficient, and will last an impressive 2,000 cycles cycling to a full 100% depth of discharge (or 5,000 cycles when cycling to 80% DoD).
Up to 4 of these 12V, 1.2 kWh batteries can be used in series to create systems of 12V, 24V, 36V, or 48V, or you can use up to 4 of them in parallel for a higher capacity 12V battery bank. All parallel strings must be maintained within 0.2V of each other.
Unlike other lithium solar batteries, CHLX batteries are cold-rated to work in ambient temperatures as low as -22°F (-30°C). During these sub-freezing conditions, CHLX batteries utilize charging current to activate an integrated heating film to warm their internal temperature. Once the battery warms itself to a temperature above freezing, it proceeds with normal solar charging.
*Charging at rates below 80A will extend battery life. After 3000 cycles at 100% depth-of-discharge, the battery's capacity will be approximately 75% its original 1.2kW.
**We strongly recommend staying within a temperature range 32°F (0°C) and 113°F (45°C) for both charging and discharging to prevent damage and extend battery life.
