The XR100 solar panel mounting rail is the ideal residential PV mounting rail, tolerating winds up to 160 miles per hour and snow loads up to 70 pounds per square foot (see "Specifications" tab for details).
IronRidge's XR family of mounting rails are made from 6000-series aluminum alloy and protected with an anodized finish to prevent corrosion. Their force-stabilizing curved profile increases their structural strength and resists the bending and twisting forces a sloped roof can generate on solar panel racking over the decades-long lifetime of a PV system. This added strength helps XR100 Mounting Rails achieve 8-foot spans, allowing for fewer roof penetrations and a more cost-effective system design on both flat and pitched roofs.

Though lightweight, all XR Solar PV Mounting Rails are long enough that they 1) must be shipped by LTL freight and 2) incur an oversize shipping charge. Because of this, the shipping cost for a few dozen rails isn't much more than it is for just a few rails. So it's better to order one or two extra rails than to be one or two short and have to place a separate order later!
