For Part 2 of our Rapid Shutdown Series (RSD) blog, we are going to look at RSD options for charge controllers. When NEC requirement 690.12 for rapid shutdown of PV systems was released in 2014, there were very few options for charge controllers and the code was not always enforced. Six years later, there are more charge controller options available for RSD compliance and more Authorities Having Jurisdiction (AHJs) are requiring it. We are going to take a look at some of the RSD options for a battery-based solar PV system, including:
- OutBack Power FLEXmax 60 MPPT
- OutBack Power FLEXmax 80 MPPT
- OutBack Power FLEXmax 100 MPPT
- MidNite Solar Classic 150 MPPT
- MidNite Solar Classic 200 MPPT
- MidNite Solar Classic 250 MPPT
- Schneider Conext MPPT 60 150
- Schneider Conext MPPT 80 600
