Aquatec's 5800 series pumps combine great economics with true workhorse power. The 5883 model is a low-flow pump designed for intermittent duty up to 100 psi, though it can be run continuously for hours at a time. It is commonly used either to pressurize water from an atmospheric tank, deliver purified water to a specific point of use, or simply increase pressure.
These pumps can be controlled by either a pressure switch ("demand" mode) or an external power control device ("delivery" mode). When required, an integrated bypass can be incorporated to help regulate pressure levels. Rugged and reliable, the Aquatec 5883 offers greater corrosion and moisture/dust intrusion resistance than its ShurFlo 8000 counterparts - and at a lower cost.
These pumps operate exceptionally quietly and with minimal pulsations, and run directly from a DC source like a solar panel with no inverter required.
Although Aquatec is a relative newcomer to the solar water pumping market, they have been leaders in related fields including water treatment, medical laser equipment heat exchange, and medical endoscope reprocessing water supply since 1976. Aquatec's manufacturing and materials sourcing is all-American and does not depend on foreign suppliers for parts. All wet parts are NSF 018 drinking water safe.
Outstanding lifespan - Aquatec's surface pump brushes have been carefully selected to maximize life. Robust motor design with front and back bearing support, unlike the front bearing and rear bushing support found in many other brands. Heavy duty Honeywell micro switch is rated to 1.5 million cycles; the switch will last much longer than other brands. Proprietary diaphragm enhancements - including coated wobblers, diaphragm support backer, and specially selected santoprene - extend pump life as well.
Easy integration - ⅜" compression fittings.
