AquaCera Pioneer SS4 Gravity Water Filtration System
The Pioneer™ SS4 Gravity Water Filter from AquaCera is a portable, easy-to-assemble water treatment system that uses gravity to filter water in the upper chamber through dual ceramic filter elements into the lower chamber, where the filtered water is stored. Manufactured from durable, lightweight 304 grade polished stainless steel, the upper chamber nests neatly into the lower chamber when not in use, making the Pioneer easy to transport and great for emergency, camping, or everyday home use.
The Pioneer holds two to four 7" CeraMetix® filters (two are included, additional filters available separately above) that remove a broad range of contaminants down to 0.5 microns, including chloramines, metals, fluoride, pathogenic bacteria (cholera, typhoid, salmonella, E coli), and parasites (Giardia, Cryptosporidium, and others).

I bought this as a cheaper alternative to a Berkey. The stainless steel housing is great. The plastic spigot seems like it could break after extended use, but we'll see. A metal spigot would be nicer. It comes with two ceramic-and-charcoal filters that look pretty different than the Berkey product. A Real Goods rep was very helpful over the phone, and told me that the ceramic filters can't freeze or they'll crack, so when it gets cold I'll have to stop using the filter and store it at a friend's house (since my Tiny House in Vermont freezes frequently).
The first few loads of water filter very slowly, but after the filter gets primed the filtering speed seems to be decent. For the first few weeks, this product has worked well.
