Electrical Enclosures

Batteries and inverters need to be installed as close as possible to each other because of the high currents/large wire sizes used. If flooded lead-acid batteries are used, off-gassing must be considered. Fumes that come from batteries are corrosive and will damage equipment, so battery enclosures must be vented to the outside. Most of our electrical enclosures are built to accommodate specific inverters so be sure to indicate which inverter will be used at time of order. These enclosures facilitate DC connections and connections to inverter/chargers by providing DC circuit breakers for the power inverter and solar charge controller as well as AC connection points for inverters - busbars for input from generator and output to AC distribution panel. These enclosures also facilitate ground fault protection for the solar PV array for code compliance on roof-mounted arrays. Be sure to order the correct GFI breaker for your system.
