Teak is an extremely durable and beautiful wood. Be Home's teak products are made from excess material left behind by the logging industry. No new trees are cut down.
Be Home was founded in 2007 by 2 Belgians living in the San Francisco Bay Area. Their vision was very simple: to introduce handmade, ecologically friendly, and responsibly-produced products with a very natural and simple aesthetic to the American market.
Today, we are proud to develop new products each season that fit within this vision. We are always on the lookout for new sustainable materials, and creative and beautiful ways to use them.
We are a socially responsible company, dedicated to the principles of fair trade and equal opportunity. We work with family-run businesses, cooperatives and those that treat their workers fairly and with respect. We maintain close and personal relationships with all of our vendors, and ensure compliance with our standards by making frequent visits to our suppliers.
We are humbled to enjoy such an amazing symbiotic relationship with these vendors in Vietnam, Thailand, India, Bolivia and Tunisia, where living standards are sometimes challenging. We are proud to sell their handicrafts in the United States, thereby helping them improve their living standards at home.
Be Home prides itself on offering items that are made from reclaimed materials, such as teak left over from the logging industry, glassware made from recycled cola bottles, candle votives made from repurposed recycled glass bottles, and mango wood and olive wood that has been ecologically harvested from dried-out plantation trees.
All of our items are hand-made, making each one unique. For this reason, no two products look exactly the same.
